1. Apostle Islands National Lakeshore
The Apostle Islands National Lakeshore is a beautiful place. It is full of islands that have great beaches and shores. The islands are very big, and there are many different places on the shore.
Lakeshore has 27 different islands. There are 21 of them with federal ownership. They offer a scenic view of 69,000 acres (28,074 ha) along 99 miles (160 km) of the lakeside coastline.
Pets: The Apostle Islands National Lakeshore does not allow pets on public buildings or scheduled tours.
Camping: The Apostle Islands National Lakeshore offers a variety of camping opportunities, including 18 campsites on the islands and one site just off the shore.
Tour: The Apostle Islands National Lakeshore is a beautiful region of Lake Superior. It has many islands that have been preserved for people to enjoy. You can go here for sailing, boating, camping, fishing and kayaking or guided tours, and scuba diving too!

2. Saint Croix National Scenic Riverway
The Saint Croix National Scenic Riverway is a protected river system that stretches across Minnesota and Wisconsin. It is one of the most beautiful places in America. This federally protected area was established by senators Walter Mondale and Gaylord Nelson. The St.Croix, the Namekagon, and other rivers are all covered in this protected area.
These two have had big jobs. One of them was the vice president of Jimmy Carter and the other served six terms before retiring due to Parkinson’s disease. But they both did good things: they changed people’s lives!
Pets: Pets are permitted in all areas of the park, but they must be leashed at six feet or less.
Camping: The Saint Croix National Scenic Riverway State and private campgrounds are near the St. Croix river, a place you can enjoy camping with modern conveniences like showers and electricity. You can also camp in a more rustic way with fire rings to cook on and tables for picnics.
Tour: The Saint Croix National Scenic Riverway is a place to go get fresh air. You can fish for trout on the upper Namekagon River with your family. You can dip your toes into one of our riverside springs at County Road O Landing!
There is plenty to do. You could have a canoe race with friends, eat outside by Osceola Landing, bird watch on the boardwalk trail of Trego Nature Trail, camp out in Sandrock Cliffs Campground and become a Junior Ranger.
