These are two parks in New England. One is called Sleeping Giant State Park and it has a natural landmark that everyone can see.

Weir Farm National Historical Park is a park in the United States. It is an old farm. It has buildings and fields that are old. The people who donated the land wanted to protect Weir Farm from being destroyed.
The artist Weir Alden’s house can be seen. His artwork is all over the world from the farm in Ohio. You can visit to see his paintings and you can also go on a tour of the farm, or just explore on your own.
1990 was when a park was established to look at home J. Weir Alden is an artist who is well known for being one of America’s most influential artists. Visitors get free art supplies and can explore other parts of this park, like walking through fields that inspired many paintings by Andrew Wyeth when he lived there too.
2. Appalachian National Scenic Trail
The Appalachian National Scenic Trail is a long trail that goes from Maine to Georgia. It crosses many tall mountains and goes through some remote areas. There are many different types of ecosystems, too.
The A.T can be followed by foot, horseback, or bicycle for up to six months at a time without repeating oneself. For the hiker, there are many dangers that arise such as getting sick and not being able to go on, bad weather like hurricanes or floods, or nature with its own problems like animals and getting lost.
The Appalachian National Scenic Trail is a long trail that goes across the eastern United States and reaches 2000 feet in elevation. It goes through northwest Connecticut, and it is over 2000 miles long.
The land is wide and it has forests. There are also hills and valleys. This land ends at the waterfalls near the gorges which were built by some of America’s first settlers. They lived on the same path centuries ago.
People were looking for freedom or new land. They went to places that were unknown. At the same time, people wanted to start a new life without any government interference.
